PAULA HERNÁNDEZ DIONIS

She was born in 1986 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. She finishes her post-graduate and Master studies in Violoncello Performance with Mr. Marçal Cervera, both of them with distinction. In 2017 she obtains the “Extraordinary End of Career Award” in the Conservatory of Canarias in the specialty of contrabass.

She has taken part in different masterclasses given by teachers like Mark Peters, Asier Polo, María de Macedo, Christophe Coin, Mariano García, Damián Martínez, Aldo Mata, Angel Luis Quintana, Suzana Stefanovic, Adrián Brendel, Rafael Pidoux, Mark Friedhoff, Charles Tunnell, Arnau Tomas, Alexander Osokin, Sung – Won Yang, David Etheve, Bernard Gregor Smith and Sigurdur Halldórsson. She has also had contrabass lessons from Alberto Bocini, Toni García, Roberto Terrón, Alain Bourguignon, Milton Masciadri, Jonathan Camps, Roberto Carrillo and Frano Kakarigi.

She has played with different orchestras and ensembles like the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Quantum Ensemble, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Elche, Orquesta Sinfónica de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Ensemble Villa de la Orotava and Ensemble Contemporáneo de Las Palmas. She was also a member of the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra, International Bremen Youth Orchestra and Norwegian Youth Orchestra. As an orchestra player she has performed in national and international music halls like the Berliner Philharmoniker, Amsterdam Muziekgebouw, Palau de la Música Catalana, Auditorio de Tenerife, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Auditorio Alfredo Kraus etc.

She has performed numerous concerts as soloist and chamber music players, among which we can stand out the participation in the concours “El Primer Palau” of the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. In 2006 she was awarded with the prize “Andrés Segovia – José Miguel Ruíz Morales”.

At the moment she combines her career as soloist and chamber music player with teaching Violoncello and Contrabass in the “Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza Villa de la Orotava”.

MIGUEL ÁNGEL DIONIS GARCÍA

Miguel Ángel Dionis García was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1967. He began piano lessons at the Music Conservatory of his home town with Concepción Hernández Peraza, with whom he finished his intermediate degree studies, obtaining Honor Mention in every academic year.

In 1988 he was given a scholarship by the Autonomous Government of the Canary Islands to carry out studies of Superior Degree at the Conservatory of Music of Barcelona that he concluded with Professor Miquel Farré, in 1991, obtaining the highest marks. He improved technique and interpretation with Guillermo González, Ángel Soler, Miquel Farré, Josep Colóm, Claude Helffer, Dimitri Bashkirov, James Avery, Jorge Pepi and Edith Fischer.

In 1990 he was awarded first prize in the 11th Piano National Contest “Joan Massia” and second in the senior category of the 24th Catalonian Contest of Young Piano Interpreters. In 1992 he won first prize in the “Círculo de Amistad XII de Enero” Piano Contest in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and also first prize in the senior category of the 25th Catalonian Contest of Young Piano Interpreters. In 1994 he was awarded second prize of soloists in the Musical “Muestra”, organized by the Catalonian Government.

In 1993 he was given a scholarship by the Association “Sofia Puche”, and was invited to the cycle of concerts of the International Course of Blonay, Switzerlad. He has performed as a soloist with the Symphonic Orchestra of Tenerife, La Laguna Classical Orchestra and the Symphonic Orchestra of Galicia with Víctor Pablo Pérez, Máximino Zumalave, Mark Peters, Paul Opie y Alejandro Posadas.

He has recorded for the Spanish National Radio and the “Suisse Romande”.Televisión Española,Televisión Canaria y TV3 Stuttgart tv,Berlintv He has performed in the best teather of Spain and Europe: Palau de la música catalana, Auditorio de Barcelona, Gran teatro del Liceu. Teatro Real de Madrid.Maestranza de Sevilla, Arriaga de Bilbao,Auditorio de Tenerife, Konzerthaus of Berlin, Liederhalle de Stuttgart, Konzerthaus of Wuppertal, Philarmonie de Essen. Congresshouse de Londres,Tonhalle of Düsseldorf, Kongresshaus de Innsbruck, Auditorio of Zaragoza, Auditorio de Galicia, Auditorio de Santiago, Auditorio de San Sebastián, Valencia, Konzerthaus of Dortmund, Theatro of Duisburh, Regensburg, Berna, Blonay, Victoria hall de Ginebra…
