Born in Villaviciosa de Odón (Madrid), he studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. He further developed his training with the pianist Humberto Quagliata, finishing his studies in Vienna under the direction of Leonid Brumberg. He also receives advice from pianists such as Phillip Dyson, Andrzej Jasinski and Alicia de Larrocha. He made his international debut at the Feuchtwangen Piano Festival as part of the acclaimed Musikzauber Franken in Germany, where critics praised his “great talent and strong power of communication”. Since then he has been intensely active as a recitalist, soloist in orchestras and chamber ensembles, with debuts in concert halls in Vienna, Milan, Paris, London, Florence, Rio de Janeiro, New York and Miami. He is a regular guest at important festivals throughout Europe. He has made record and radio recordings with Verso, Sonoris, RTVE and Hrvatski Croatian Radio among others. His firm commitment to the music of his time is fundamental, premiering, recording and performing in concert halls in Europe and America works often dedicated to him by composers such as Tomás Marco, Jesús Rueda, Jesús Torres, David del Puerto, José Ma Sanchez Verdú, Mercedes Zavala, Nuria Núñez and Mauricio Sotelo among others. Considered one of the most relevant pianists of his generation, he has recently made an extensive tour of the United States which has led him to make his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as concerts at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Ircam-Centro Pompidou in Paris, Teatro Solís in Montevideo, Teatro Nacional de Lima or the Zagreb Music Academy, among others. He is frequently asked to give masterclasses at different teaching centres and universities in Europe and America (Princenton University, William Patterson University, Florida International University, University of Costa Rica, Tel Aviv Conservatory, etc.). He participates in the Berliner Klassik Sommer in Berlin with the Berliner Camerata, under the baton of Johannes Schläfli, concerts in Italy, Bulgaria, France and USA and as a soloist with the Ensemble Meitar in Tel Aviv under the baton of Fabian Panisello. His hometown Villaviciosa de Odón awarded him the title of Favourite Son in 2016. His latest recordings include the CD “Adalid: el piano romántico”, his first work for the Universal label, and the CD “Tomás Marco: piano Works”, a monographic CD with piano music by the composer Tomás Marco for the Ibs Classical label. He has premiered the Piano Concerto No. 2 by the composer José Ma Goicoechea with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra and the conductor Josep Caballé Domenech. He has recently released his latest CD “Ricercata: Great Masters of the 20th Century” recorded for the Ibs Classical label. Upcoming engagements will take him to venues in Italy, Germany, England, the United States, Portugal and Poland.
