Arrecife is once again filled with music with the second cycle of family concerts, an initiative that brings the magic of music to the different neighborhoods of the municipality. The Nino Díaz Foundation promotes this project with the aim of creating meeting places where everyone can enjoy live chamber music, in a way close to the musicians, instruments and musical language.

On this occasion we invite you to enjoy Lanzarote Sax Quartet, an ensemble with more than 20 years of experience that unites teacher and students in the same mission: to disseminate and promote chamber music and culture. Integrated by: Salvador Santana Luján (soprano saxophone), Giovani Noda Niz (alto saxophone), Félix Rollán Díaz (tenor saxophone) and Javier Luzardo Pastoriza (baritone saxophone).

In addition, we will have the exciting narrations of Saray Castro, who will guide the audience through the stories and sounds of each piece performed, and with the text and direction of José Carlos Campos.

The evening’s repertoire will include leading figures in classical and contemporary music such as Ferenc Farkas, who was a Hungarian composer known for his works of music for band and orchestra.  Travelling to another continent we will have Lino Florenzo with a focus on Latin American music and Arturo Márquez, a Mexican composer famous for his works that combine elements of folklore.  Returning to the old continent, the music of Pedro Iturralde (Spanish musician and composer) takes us to experience the fusion of flamenco and jazz. Finally, with the works of Luis Niehaus and Jean-Michel Naulais, Lanzarote Sax Quartet together with the magical Saray Castro will create a warm and particular atmosphere offering a diverse sound journey full of nuances.

Conciertos de Proximidad is an invitation to discover, feel and share music as a universal language. We want each concert to be a close, participatory and memorable experience, using music as a bridge between cultures, a space for integration and shared enjoyment.
